An autonomous AI researcher for theoretical quantum information. It works on open problems end to end and returns exact, certified results, not numerical approximations. Available to every Primus user today.
Primus for Quantum Mechanics is a mode you select inside Primus. When you start a project, choose the Quantum information specialization and describe the problem.
Primus takes it from there: it sets up the problem, runs the optimization, derives the closed form and writes up the proof.

Lean 4 + Physlib QuantumInfoFormal statements and machine-checked proofs about quantum states and channels.
toqitoQuantum information primitives: states, channels, entanglement and state distinguishability.
cvxpySemidefinite programs, the native language of optimal measurements and PPT bounds.
sympyExact symbolic algebra for turning numerics into closed forms.
QuTiPSimulation of open and closed quantum systems.
Rather than stopping at a numerical approximation, Primus constructs matching primal and dual solutions to a semidefinite program. When the value you can achieve meets the bound nothing can beat, the formula is certified as the exact optimum, not just a close estimate.
Its derivations are written to be checked, and can be formalized in Lean.
Quantum computing gets plenty of attention, but work like quantum state discrimination under Positive Partial Transpose (PPT) constraints sits at a narrow intersection of convex optimization and quantum information theory. Only a few hundred researchers worldwide work there. Exact results in this area are useful across the field:
Exact PPT bounds limit how much separated parties can learn about a shared state, the standard tool for certifying quantum data hiding.
Explicit thresholds for the minimum entanglement a discrimination task needs to succeed without error.
Problems with broken symmetries rarely have closed forms. Exact solutions become benchmarks for broader channel discrimination algorithms.
We want to work directly with quantum companies and research teams on the problems slowing their progress. If that’s you, hello@lab.cloud.
